Defective Power Connector

I have an Dell Latitude X300. When I plug the power cord into the side, I still get the indication that it is not connected. The only way I can get the battery recharged is when I have laptop plugged into the docking station. I just believe that the power connecter on the side of the laptop is defective. I want to disassembly the laptop so that I can check the power connector and replace it if needed, but I do not what to destroy it because I do not know how the unit comes apart.
Does anyone know if I can get a repair manual that will show how to disassembly the laptop?

Thanks

Many of the connectors are solidered to the mobo. I would contact a Dell service company and get a quote/idea of what it takes to fix it...Many require a new mobo....

Thumbs up Success!

Thanks Panama Red,
I was able to download the manual that I needed from Dell. Once I disassembled the laptop, I found that the leads of the connector broke away from the motherboard. The power connector must have been stressed with the power cable plugged into it. I was able to solder the contacts on the power connector back to the motherboard. Luckily there was not PCB/trace damage.
Needless to say, my manage was very happy that he did not have to buy a new laptop.
