trying to save hp laptop
Hey guys, so it looks like the monitor on my brothers laptop has a loose connection. The screen freezes constantly, unless you move it to around a 90 degree angle and press down on the screen, then it unfreezes and continues working as normal. But once you release pressure on the laptop, it freezes again. Is there anyway I can fix this on my own or does this have to go to Bestbuy or my local computer store for repairs? I tried hooking up the laptop to an old Compaq monitor I have, but it doesn't seem to be compatible with it.

Try taking it apart and seeing there is a loose cable. It is not that hard just don't force anything off. I bet if you google your laptop model number someone has write up on how to take apart that laptop.

Possibly the signal wire that runs from the bottom half up to the screen has a break in it (from too many times of opening and closing the laptop). If that's the case, then yeah, you're still going to need to find an online repair manual to show you how to get into it correctly, or provide the model number here so we can help you search for one.
