Cannot log in

Bought a new PC Dell Studio XPS

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Hope I am posting in the right place with appropriate topic.

But now I am not able to log into some of my accounts on line via my host cp. I know this sounds strange so please bare with me.

1. Server was upgraded to new CP Technology and my sites were all moved there
2. My aol account works via Firefox and via Thunderbird. Of course different port for aol using smtp outgoing port 587
3. My email for my domain do not log me in from cp but it will via TB. No error just a return to login screen
4. I can only receive emails via TB but cannot send.
5. Host is blaming it on port 25 but I am mobil. Log in all across the country. All ports set to 25 on outgoing for cp email accounts
6. Previous pc logged in just fine with no email problems at all. New pc won't.
7. I am thinking maybe Trend Micro which came with new pc might be blocking port 25 not sure.

Any help appreciated

Dave

Contact your host and get the settings for a SMTP server that does not use port 25. It's your ISP that's blocking port 25 for any server except their own for spam prevention. My host offers a server on port 26, others (such as AOL) use a secure server on 587.

I'd recommend you uninstall Trend Micro and replace it with one of the free AV packages and the Windows firewall to rule out item 7.

Them clowns are dodging the blame. They won't do anything about port 25.

They are blaming it on every WiFi Hot Spot I log into across the country.

I told them I am not buying that.

If they refuse to fix the problem then I will request a refund which they are gladly willing to do.

Only problem is my time to reinstall all the clients websites including my own.

I do not have the time.

I do not have an isp account. I only log in accross the country and the port 25 was not that big a problem.

Still confused though as to why I am now not even able to login to my other accounts for my domain.

Thanks
Dave

Try your host's webmail. Does that work?

Yes it's the host webmail that is not logging me in though they swear they can log in from their end.

I uninstalled Trend Micro and disabled firewall

same problem.

Have you tried logging into the webmail from a different computer, like maybe a public terminal at a library? If that fails, the issue is definitely with your host.

Library Firewall

You cannot access the following Web address:
http://98.130.1.159/horde/imp/redirect.php

The site you requested is blocked because its IP address is uncategorized.

Can you try from a friend or relative's computer at their home or office?

It loads fine for me here - it goes to the password screen for Horde mail.

Can you try from a hotel lobby computer or a customer's computer or something?

So far I was able to send email via Mozilla Thunderbird for my website host account using one WiFi spot but I still cannot login when I try to do so via firefox.

Still not able to find a 2nd computer to try. The hotel I was in did not have a computer I could try.

ok the evidence is in.

I cannot login to any of my webmail accounts from another pc here at the library.

I even tried changing my password(s) in cp.

Again no errors just back to login screen.

Recall I can login to cp but not webmail.

That points toward host issues to me. If you can log into the CP, that means that the library's proxy is not getting in the way.

The way things are going right now I cannot do anything. Too much to move with maybe just a few minutes every two three dayz or so. It will take me forever.

They will have to give me money back.
