Big Time Windows Problem on laptop
I will try and keep this short and simple right down the point.
When I turn my IBM T61 on, it brings up a black screen that states the following. Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external usb drive while the device is in use. File:/Windows/system32/winload.exe Status: 0xc00000e9 InfoL An unexpected I/O Error has occured, So I tried to pop in my vista disc and reinstall vista, it loads the windows files and the microsoft coporation bar pops up, than it hangs at a black screen with an oversized white cursor and goes nowhere. I tried to install xp and it told me it could not detect the hard drive, even though the bios detects the hard drive. I am thinking I just want to whipe the hard drive completely right now but how can i do that if I cant load the windows discs to format the hard drive? |

Can you please list all parts, make and model, including psu.
Also, did you try to unplug all the peripherals and usb devices like windows said?

Shadow, it's a laptop and the model has been identified.
In order for XP to detect the hard drive, the SATA controller must be set to native IDE mode in the bios. Press the blue button during startup and use Rescue and Recovery to reload Windows. You do not need to boot with a CD. |
