Boot with the Ubuntu CD, it will handle the repartitioning and formatting for you.

Had to hit F2 and enter BIOS to enable F12 boot. Then booted from CD/DVD drive with ubuntu CD in drive. Absolutely fantastic operating system. So easy to use plus comes with open office which is compatible with microsoft packages.

Thanks.
