using a laptop for gps navigation
ive been here with questions almost every time ive had one you guys are pretty help ful
but im not sure how many of you could help with this one. first off stupid devices like garmins and tom toms are way over priced and then you have to pay them like 100 bucks to update it every year. any way. i am i volunteer firefighter so its important for me to know where to go when i get called. i really didnt want to buy a garmin or anyother gps device so i started to look into the idea of using my laptop. it seems i would need a gps device and software but im not sure what to buy or exactly what i need. keep in mind im poor. they dont pay me to do this.... (yet.) i thought about looking into open source or other free software. if there really isnt any good ones out there i could find some money for software. i figured something along the lines of this: Link would work but i really have no idea and i dont want to buy something and it be the wrong thing. thanks in advance for any help. -Redstorm |

I use Microsoft Streets & Trips with GPS on my laptop.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116506 When you want an updated program, it's half that price without the GPS module. |
