HP Mini VGA Cable
For those with HP Mini Netbooks, the HP Mini VGA Cable appears to be a VESA Mini Display Port to VGA. The port is not proprietary, but a newer VESA standard. Apple uses it on some Macs. HP appears to be jacking the prices every few weeks. What started out as a reasonable $19.95 is now $34.95 when available.
The Apple Store has the same cable in white for $29. On the web, searching will find it a bit less expensive. I've found it at $18.95! The Mini Display Port is cable of carrying audio as well as video, but the VGA doesn't carrry audio. It may work with the Mini Display to HDMI.
