Ipaq 3970
I Just purchased an Ipaq 3970 on ebay and it doesn't seem to want to format my 2 gb sd card but is able to read and format my 32 mb and 64 mb cards. It gives an error 31 when trying to format the 2gb card. Ive tried pre formatting it in my computer with many type of different formats with no luck. Same thing happens. The device is running Windows Mobile 3 because certain software i need to use on it only runs on that version of windows mobile.
Is this because of the amount of memory the device and os can address or is this a device bug? |

If Windows Mobile 3 is the same thing as 2003, the 3970 does work with a Sandisk 2gb card.

The card is a sandisk 2gb. I've tried other hp and verbatim models and same thing. Asks to format the card then gives error 31.

Sounds to me like the Ipaq you bought is defective.
