Dell laptop 1505 Feezes

I've been using this dell inspiron laptop for about 3 years now and recently it started freezing. After about 10 mins of being powered on the system freezes, mouse is still movable but then a loud sound emits and would not go off until i manually hold down the power button. I have run dell diagnostics , mem test and HD test all seem to be working fine. I've cleaned all registry errors and checked for overheating, and run several spyware programs but system still fails . Are there any suggestions on what to do , my last option may be to format the drive but im not ready to do that yet

After you shutdown - if you turn right back on will it go another ten minutes or does it freeze up sooner?

It sounds like it is overheating.
If you shine a torch in the airvents can you see any dust build up?
