new laptop recommendation
Hi
I know the specs I would like in a laptop, and the price, but not the manufacturer or model. 15.x" Intel T4200 3Gb ram ATI Mobility (actually, anyting non-Intel onboard) OS - XP or Vista (alas) 160Gb hdd MS Office DVD/CD Wireless card - b/g/n 6-cell battery Reliable manufacturer £425 I have spec'ed a Dell Inspiron at £480, but that's just too much. Toshiba suffers 'cos ATI cards bump up the price into £500 range. Not sure which other mfrs to try. Heard negative things abt Acer and Asus (altho i have an Asus mobo in my desktop which is gr8 so far). - could I get an AMD chip for less, and is it as good? - could I do without wireless 'n'? - could I get my other half to use OpenOffice and save £60 on Microsoft Office? Thanks for any advice / recommendations!
