Ipod Touch

I am getting an ipod touch and I was wondering a few things. I was looking through itunes and the games on there show that none of them are compatible with the ipod touch. Where do I get games for my ipod? I don't have wifi What is the best way to get games?

Where in Itunes are you looking? You have to look in the App Store llike you were looking for Iphone apps. The "Ipod Games" section is for regular Ipods. Virtually all of the apps in the App Store work on both the Ipod Touch and Iphone. I have yet to find one that did not work on the Ipod Touch.

I would recommend wifi myself. I hate Itunes and the less I have to use it the better. The App Store is fully accessible from the Ipod itself and I find I use my Ipod for a large chunk of my internet browsing and instant messaging.

The only apps that don't work on the touch is stuff that would require a camera or a microphone.

You should be able to use the app store on iTunes, otherwise you could always hit up a local wifi hotspot and spend some time browsing.

Apps that require a microphone work just fine as long as you have a mic. I have a Thumbtack Mic and it works great. It is capable of excellent qualit recording and works well with the SPL meter and RTA apps that I have.

Apps requiring cameras are a no go. No addons there.

As long as it is a 2nd Gen. Touch it will. there are still 1st gen. models available out there.

There are mics for the first gen models that connect to the dock connector. Not all apps are compatible with that type.

I would use wifi if I wasn't deployed. I bought the itouch on apple's website. On the shipping notification email I received, it states it is 2nd Gen. I have to use itunes until I get back home at the end of the year. I just don't want to buy anything off Itunes and it don't end up working. There are not a lot of games on itunes either but I am mainly going to use it for music and movies. Is it possible to put your own videos on it?

Is the whole App Store not in iTunes? I must admit, I've never looked at it there before.

Here is what I use for converting videos for the iTouch - http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/iPod/

I have a vid converter already for my blackberry. I will post what it says in the store when I get off and back to my room. I bought the 32GB version because I will use it mainly for the multimedia and I have a ton of things I can put on it.

When you fire up iTunes, be sure you click on 'App Store'. The link for 'iPod Games' above it is just for the classic Ipods with the click wheel.

Yes, you can put your own videos on it.

Lately I have been playing Toki Tori. It's a great side scroller.
