Slate Tablet PC Suggestions

I'm currently a university student majoring in Math and Computer Science.

I already have a laptop, (about 2 years old, a dell 6400) and I’m sort of interested in investing in a tablet pc for taking notes in class and other "office" tasks. (And even "inking" programs, is this even possible?)
It seems that the market for tablet pc is not as well developed as laptops, as there are only so many manufactures out there.
After about a week of research, the only slate tablet pc that I have my eyes on is the Sahara Slate i440D. (http://www.tabletkiosk.com/products/sahara/i400s_pp.asp ) (which is kind of absurd, I kind of expected more than just one)
Are there any other alternatives out there?

Something to this effect:
- Below 12 inches
- Keyboardless, slate foam factor
- Must have both Digitizer and touch screen mode
- Long battery life
- A fast Intel CPU
- At least 2 gigs of memory
- Vista OS, (and windows 7 capable)
- Finger scanner, and preferable a webcam, and the usual bells and whistles such as wireless, BT, etc.

Any suggestions will be grateful.
Thanks

To me I would almost have to get one with a keyboard, a physical keyboard is SOOO much better than a touch one in my opinion. Plus with the slate design aren't you going to have to be constanly craning you neck to look down on it?

This is just me, but these tablet PCs seem much better for much less $.

Also, those PCs are like over 2K, the highest price one on Newegg is under 2k.
I am talking about something like this: Fujitsu Lifebook T2020
This PC has the same size screen, A FASTER processor, the same memory, a fingerprint sensor, Vista BUSINESS, and everythingelse you were looking for. Like I said, I don't know too much about tablet PCs, but just looking at the specs, this comp is better for much less.

Also: FujitsuLifebook T5010
This PC has a BIGGER screen, and about the same specs as the last comp

If you do get a table - look at Office OneNote.
