Battery Question

If I have a laptop that will be left plugged in 99% of the time, should I take the battery out? It does work when plugged in but without the battery.

I borrowed this from another site:

Quote:
If it's a Nickel-based battery, take it out. They have that nasty memory effect thing going.

If it's a lithium-based batter, leave it alone. They have circuitry that enables it to constantly get a charge without negatively affecting anything. Also they don't get the dumb memory effect.
