Need powerful laptop

I am currently a MacBook Pro user, but my GPU just died just when my warranty went out, so i'm trying to figure out if i should pay $1200 to get it fixed, or buy a new computer. So i'm not going to invest in the Apple anymore, i have already sunk enough into it already. But i'm looking for a good, powerful laptop that will last me for more than a year in terms of build quality, unlike Apple and Dell. I want to steer away from the big companies, go more towards a custum laptop company. What are your opinions on a company named Sager? I was able to customize a computer on there and it turned out to be $1700 which is really good for the hardware in it. I want to stay away from HP, Dell, Apple, Gateway, Sony, etc. And i don't want to sepnd $2500 on a computer again if it's not going to last. I am college student, I will be using it for CAD work, design like pictures/graphics and video, also, of course, gaming. So if anyone could recommend me to one, please let me know.

I wouldn't spend a dollar let alone 1200 on that apple. Here is the best laptop on the market for the money http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220563

I'd check around to find out if there was a secret warranty for you GPU. nVidia had some big time problems with notebook GPUs.
