Finished researching for a new laptop, what do you guys think?
I currently have a Toshiba Satellite P105-S9337, which I've owned for 2 and 1/2 yrs. It has completely fallen apart and is almost dead. I can barely get it to charge. It being past its 1 yr warranty, Toshiba charges a flat rate of $425 to fix a $100 at most part on my laptop. So I figured it's time for an upgrade.
Use: School and Multimedia What I'm looking for: -Medium processor and video card -Multi task well -Windows 7 Home -Great Display and sound -Durable and reliable -14-15'' Screen -250-300GB HD (doesn't really matter) -decent battery life, maybe (2.5 hours or more) -2-3GB memory Price Range: $1000 and less Research: 1) Sony VAIO CW Series:http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...specifications I like this one probably the most, but I hear Sony doesn't make quality Laptops and quality means a lot to me. Hopefully Sony is turning that image around with this new CW series and proves to be very reliable. Because it's so new, there are no reviews out for it yet. Specs: * 4GB (2GBx2) DDR3-SDRAM-1066 * Standard Capacity Battery (VGP-BPS13) * CD/DVD playback/burning * Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P7450 (2.13GHz) * No additional Video Editing Software * NVIDIA® GeForce® G210M GPU (256MB VRAM) * Jet Black * Genuine Microsoft® Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit * 320GB Hard Disk Drive (5400rpm) 2) Dell Studio 14z: http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/noteb...cs=19&ref=lthp I've never been a big fan of Dell laptops, but I heard good things about their quality and reliability. Specs: (Laptop is giving me trouble, specs are on web page above) Anything I get, even if it's brand name has been known to have bad quality, I'm sure will make me more than happy. This Toshiba laptop I currently own has probably been the worst thing I've ever invested in. So, I'm not looking to get a Toshiba, and I'm not a big fan of Macs. I've looked into Acer,Asus,MSI,HP, and levono but didn't really see anything I liked. My question to you guys is, do you think these 2 laptops look good? Are there any other laptops that I may have missed? I appreciate your insight. |

Go for the Dell if you don't want an Asus.

HP = Has Problems. Dell and Asus are the go, Sager used to be good but haven't heard much about them lately. As an indicator, my Dell is just starting to experience problems after 5 years, and that's a laptop that travels with me (I travel 5-6 times a year) and gets all sorts of abuse
