Yup my instinct too.
Is the su2300 better the an atom dual 330?( coupled with ion graphics). Does anyone have another netbook suggestion in that category? Requrements would be as follows. -Screen 11.6"- 12" -Cpu: not an atom 270-280 -Decent battery life -Budget: 500 usd Thanks Jay Last edited by J1978; 12-11-2009 at 06:07 AM. |

I've been looking at Lenovo and Dell. Lenovo has a promo for an extra 20% off. I am not sure if Dell has a promo or not. I am leaning towards a Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 or S12. I just wonder how they will do with XP or Windows 7 Starter and which to get. I also wonder if they have an optical drives, I suspect not which could make program installation difficult. ;-)

No netbooks have an optical drive that I'm aware of. I bought a Rosewill external USB slim DVD burner to use with mine. Slim external DVD-Rom drives are about $30 and burners are about $50.

Thanks, GLC. I'll have to decide whether by the time I add a DVD burner and perhaps a usb modem (to be able to surf during power outages) and the cost of the netbook makes it worth it, or if I am better served to move up to a laptop. :-)

That version of Acronis is not compatible with Windows 7.

GLC, I was thinking of getting one with XP. If not, I can use the program elsewhere. :-)
