Thinkpad T60 HD replacement
Hey guys,
I got an IBM thinkpad T60, just recently I've had some trouble with it. It sounds like the heatsink and fan are failing, and I think possibly the HD too. I tried calling IBM but of course my warranty expired 3 months ago. Now they want 600+ to fix it. I DL'ed the manual, now I'm just trying to find the parts I need. I'm on a time crunch too, I'm getting deployed to Japan in 3 weeks so if any one knows a good one stop shop to do it all, that would be awesome. Thanks guys.

Hey glc. Would I run into any problems with the HD being to large for the mobo to recognize? I got a 50gig in there now, but I've been lookin at 120 gigs. Their only like 60 bucks. I'm guessing the mobo will just recognize the HD up to what it can...like 80-100gig I'm thinking, and the rest just never gets used, is that right?

If it can see the 60 gig you have now, it should see a 120, but higher may be a problem.
