Dead Laptop? Compaq Pressario V6500
First of all Hi and thanks for taking the time to click on my post!
My friend has asked me to have a look at her laptop but to be honest I don't have a clue where to start with this one. When ya push the power button the lights come on but then it immediately clicks back off, as if the battery's dead, but it's not! (Tried it on the charger and with the battery from my F700) I tried removing the CMOS battery as it's all I could think of trying but nothings changed. She did mention that she downloaded a C.V. template just before the problem occured, I don't know if this has any relevence???????? Any advice anyone? |

It's a hardware failure. It's usually, but not always, the motherboard. Start by removing the hard drive and optical drive and the ram modules. Of course it's not going to boot that way, but if the power at least stays on, one of the things you removed is causing the problem.
