Hi, my friend has an Advent MIT-LYNO2 laptop. He says the laptop wont boot up. Is there any way of fixing this?

What lights are displayed when the laptop is plugged into the ac source?Does the laptop have any indication of battery charge level (on the bottom part of the case)? It may be related to a defective battery plug (attempt to wiggle the battery cable and see if there is any change in lights indication) with the battery pack being dead. Does the battery charger also have any lights?

bootmgr missing
Would indicate its having a hard time finding the hard drive....Is there a cd/dvd in the cd drive?

Are you certain there were NO changes made to the pc? Did it run frine for years and then out of the clear blue start getting this error?
