sony note book
I now have a sony VAIO notebook that has a hard drive problem.
I think I may have a replecement drive I can put in it. problem is, I cannot find any information on it. I can get into the bios, and xp will start to install, but then comes up with the eror that it cannot find the hard drive. one time it was at the point where it was asking where I want to install windows, it showed two partitions in use, but they were listed as system partitions. it will try to boot up but says no OS found. I need to find out more information on this and sony has nothing on this model. a manual or any help on how to remove the old drive, maybe I cam connect it to another computer with my adapter to work on the drive with partition magic and spinrite software to eather fix it or format my other drive so I can put it in this laptop. but then finding the drivers may be another problem too. this was given to me and I hope to fix it. forgot: the model number is PCG-9P6L any ideas ? bob Last edited by bailey; 03-06-2010 at 07:23 PM. You have either a PCG-K14 or PCG-K15. The 14 and 15 refer to screen size. Sony has hard drive removal and replacement instructions on their support website. I can't give you a direct link because they use javascript windows.
