Moving songs from Mini to Ipod Touch
Hi guys,
I’m using a Windows Vista PC, and would like to transfer the songs on my ipod mini to a brand new ipod touch. How would I go about doing this? I do not currently have itunes or any other mp3 management software installed. Also, can this be done for me at the Apple Store? |

No they won't do it at the Apple Store.
You're going to have to download and install iTunes there is no iPod to iPod way of transfering music without it. Once you've done that here's the definitive article on copying music from an iPod back to the computer : http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/art...d-to-computer/ This is Apple's support page for the mini : http://www.apple.com/support/ipodmini/ Once you've done that don't forget to back up your music.

Thanks Pam, you're the best. I haven't dealt with mp3 players in quite some time, and I was starting to get overwhelmed with all the different options facing me, but that article really helped to explain some key points about the Ipod transfer methodology.
In particular, I was really dumbfounded as to why the Ipod + Itunes combo had such a limited ability to transfer tracks from the ipod back to the PC, but the article explained the issue right off the bat. Very useful stuff. |
