Vostro vs. Inspiron
Two of our secretaries at work want to buy laptops. I passed on the recommendations generally made here for the $500 budget: Dell or Lenovo.
I'd like to know the difference in quality between the Dell Inspiron, Vostro, the Lenovo SL series, and G series. Thanks Last edited by paJAMbla; 03-12-2010 at 08:35 PM. |

The Inspiron is the home user model. The Vostro is the entry level business user model.

Okay. So would you say the quality of the four models is comparable? Just a matter of what style and feel one likes?

We sell a lot of Lenovo laptops and rarely see problems, we repair a lot of Dell laptops, I would recommend a Lenovo any day over a Dell.

Okay....I've nailed down these two recommendations for them. My last question: is the G560 with the i3 that much better than the 550 with the T4400 processor? Is it worth the extra 100 dollars?
Thanks again guys. In case you want to look at the specs: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/c...C8F655F9269710 And the 550 in the center (29586SU): http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/c...E910C521C2274B |

Processor comparison on Lenovo
Is the difference between the T4400 on the Lenovo G550 and the i3 processor on the 560 going to be noticeable and worth the extra $100 for someone in search of a "budget" laptop? Its for general use...nothing demanding.

Both links no workee.
But without looking - any cpu will probably do what you need and that 100 bucks is a big chunk of change. |
