When I turn my laptop on it makes these beeping noises. Its right after the BIOS has loaded and before Windows XP starts to load.
First the screen goes blank, then black, then a white bar (about 1 inch high) shows up across the bottom of the screen. Then it beeps maybe 10-15 times. When that is done windows loads like it normally would. The thing is I don't like that noise. A computer shouldn't do it unless something is wrong, but I havn't noticed anything yet. Formating and reinstalling is an option if it is needed. Any advice? Thanks |

It is probably beeping a certain pattern...Example: three short - one long (and then it repeats)
You should be able to look up the Beep Codes for the BIOS Maker of your lappy: http://bioscentral.com/ |

well, I restarted the computer to count the amounts of beeps, but they never came. Don't know what was wrong, but it's gone :P
Thanks for your help anyways
