Hooking up a laptop to a 23 inch monitor

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a 13 inch laptop this May and would like the ability to hook it up to a 22 or 23 inch monitor when I get home in the evening. I haven't had time for any serious research yet, but it seems to me that most laptops that size don't have the GPU power to display images on a larger monitor.

Do you have any advice on what GPU's to look at? Should I consider 14" laptops instead or just forget about the idea altogether?

Thank you!

Dswissmiss

I just read some specs on Acer, Toshiba, and Lenovo's, no laptops in mind yet.

well, I'm no expert on this topic, but I have a HP Pavillion laptop. The screen is 15.4" and the resolution is 1680x1050. When I get home from school i plug it up to a 24" screen and have 1920x1080 resolution. It works fine, and the only time I've had trouble with it is when I play CoD:MW2. The mouse doesn't always respond with the screen, but it works after a while.

Anyways theoretically it should work. Remember to check what resolution the GPU can run.

Any new laptop's integrated graphics will run at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200.

Tip: Look at Asus, Dell, and Lenovo.
