Wireless music sharing - is that the future?

I was just wondering - what is the purpose and chances of DRM when you can wirelessly stream music using your mobile phone to any bluetooth device including another mobile phone?
I have just seen a new wireless speaker from Creative called ZiiSound D5. You power it on, enable bluetooth in your mobile phone (needs to support a2dp bluetooth for stereo, most new ones do) hit play and the music is playing immediately through the speaker at the other end of the room. Impressive. But then I thought that's the end of DRM. Once you can stream songs wirelessly to another devices that can receive it, this effectively means you can't stop people from swapping tunes for free, can you?

Not sure if I read that correctly but, it sounds like setting up a 7.1 surround sound system will just be easier

Not all audio files are DRM protected. Files that are DRM protected have certain limitations to copying or playing.

Wireless streaming is not the future...it's an old technology that's been around for several years.

I meant that even DRM protected files can be streamed wirelessly and then received by another device, which effectively bypasses the DRM thing, doesnt it? My gf would like to get rid of of my cables in the house so I think for me wireless is the future

Wire the house properly with cables inside the walls and wall jacks.

I am still not sure that there is enough research out there to show that wifi waves won't cause us some serious health effects. But anyway. I think its a good idea, stream things from wifi etc etc, but its very severely limited because it makes hearing and recording/saving things to your device harder, seems like you have to sync users.

If you mean sharing files on a network, then, wifi or not, its being done all the time. the problem is finding people on a network who want to share with you.

when i used to live in a house with many college students we shared thousands of files on a house network and it always lacked bandwidth to move and use internet because everyone wanted to download something.

so I think the technology is there but there needs to be some standardized hardware, but once its standardized, then some kind of legal obstacles will appear that will prevent them from sharing to each other.

Why do you think neither zune nor ipod have the option to connect to each other and copy music? I think its because they know that publishers will sue the hardware manufacturer
