Question iPad vs. iPhone

I am having an internal debate between what device to get, the iPad or the iPhone. At the end of April, Apple will be offering a iPad with a 3g capability from AT&T with no contracts to sign. I am wondering what does the iPad do that the iPhone does not? So far the only benefits I see with the iPad compared to an iPhone is the bigger screen, and no contracts to sign. Also I would be waiting for the release of the new iPhone that is due to be around July or possibly June. I would like to have people weigh in on what option they would choose...the iPad or the iPhone.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the iPad can not make phone calls can it?

A larger screen is a huge advantage if you are going to use it mostly for its primary purpose, reading. This of course makes it less convenient to move around...you cant just put it in your pocket.

The iphone seems more functional to me because it can actually call people, but if you already have a cell phone and have a need to read tons of things online & on the fly then I suppose the ipad might be the better buy...

My two cents are as so;

If you want a phone, get the iPhone.
If you want a computer, get the iPad.

I really don't see the problem here :P

But this computer cant support flash,and there is no built-in optical drive.

I think the 9.7 inch LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology will make you enjoy a more wonderful visual experience than ever.

First I had an ipod touch, then I got the ipad. They're both very fun and useful to use.
I can use everything without need for any flash.

I think if you like to draw detailed art then ipad is way to go. Webpages are easier to see on ipad too.
Ipad battery lasts at least 4x longer than iphone battery as well.
