Lap top for photos and field work

I would like a recommendation/s for a lap top in the 1000 - 1500 range to use for photo editing and processing on site at sports events, and family get togethers.
Processing speed will be important as well as good graphics.
The only time it would be connected to the internet is to down load some utility programs.
I am thinking Windows 7 Pro and 4gb - 6gb of ddr3 memory.
15" to 17" monitor, maybe a 19".
Weight is not a major issue.
On board sound will be very adequate for this unit.
I want to meet or exceed the performance of my desktop of which the specs are shown in my signature.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Excellent choice glc.
Jim if you are familiar with re-installing windows I would upgrade the hard drive to a 7200RPM drive or SSD if you can fit one in your budget. That 5400 RPM drive really bottle necks the system, I have already sold over 30 of those Lenovos with the i7 since they came out and we always replace the hard drives in them to http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136342 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233087 depending on Client's budget and capacity needs.
If you don't want to bother with it then here is another laptop with the same specs that already had a 7200RPM hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220700 we sell a lot more Asus than any other brand because of their very strong support.
I only sell Asus and Lenovo, in my opinion they are the best and the only 2 brands I want to attach my name to.
