Screen Trouble
Toshiba Satellite Pro 6100 laptop running xpp sp3
When turned on the Toshiba & Windows greeting screens look good. However, once it gets to the desktop screen then the bottom 2/3's becomes elongated. Or 2/3's of the desktop looks like what a chalkboard would if mist was sprayed upon it. This has happened before. First thought that it was because it had been left in a vertical position for several weeks. After several days in the horizontal position the screen returned to normal operation. Thereafter the computer was left only in a horizontal position. But today the trouble returned. ![]() Is this a sign that the screen is failing or should I look elsewhere? Thanks much, |

Found a old crt video display & hooked up the laptop, problem disappears.
Looking around the web I see that replacement cost varies thus my question. Does a laptop require the original mfgrs display or are such interchangeable provided that the replacement meets the same physical size & has the same hinges? Thanks much, |
