Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427 Wont Boot Up

Hey guys. Hopefully I can get some help. I've got a used laptop as posted in the title, worked fine since purchased, however today after being shut down, it just won't turn on when the power button is pressed. When plugged in, the lights all come on as normal. The one saying it's got power, and the one for the battery charging.

When unplugged, the battery light comes on when the on button is pressed. The on button's light stays on steady when you press it, the hard drive activates very briefly, and the light for it flickers, but then it just stops. The monitor doesn't turn on, and nothing else happens. I've tried hooking up an external monitor, no luck. Caps lock button won't light up when it's pressed, so I'm under the impression it's just not doing.. anything.

I'm not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to repairing laptops, and haven't been able to find anything online about it, so I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice/tips to find out what's going on. Thanks in advance.

That generally means it needs a motherboard replacement.

My son has a Toshiba laptop which gave exactly your symtoms.
I went into the bios, and it was not showing a hard drive at all.
I turned it over --- after unplugging etc, and removed the panel covering the hard drive.
I found that the screw holding the hard drive in place had come undone, and was lying in the bay. The hard drive had come adrift.
I pushed it back on the terminals and re-fitted the screw.
It worked perfectly afterwards.
I realise that this may not be your trouble, but decided to suggest it anyway.
