XP wont boot

Hi, I have a Advent Roma 2000 laptop. Celeron proccesor 3GB Ram running windows 7. When I start it up i get a black screen saying windows failed to start. When I go to launch startup repair it gives me 4 options start repair, reinstall windows, advanced options and exit and restart. When I press any option nothing happens. Help please

* You need to have an original Win 7 disc in your optical drive to recover the operating system issue(s).

* Your other choice is to access a recovery partition (not sure if you have it installed) and re-load the Windows. Please, note this method will erase your current data contained within "C" partition.

* If you have another working system, download the appropriate recovery Win 7 iso (first link is a 32-bit and the second is a 64-bit) and burn the image to disc. Once you have this task completed, insert the disc into the laptop and boot off the disc (make sure your BIOS setting is adjusted for a correct boot order). Follow the instructions on the given page.
