Which Netbook - Any suggestions?

Hey everyone,

Just thought I would drop a line here(don't know if this is the right forum, sorry!) and tell you that I am looking for a netbook for the lady. She is a true email/word processing/internet user. Beyond that, she doesn't require much from the computer. Her current laptop is too big and she is looking for something that she can actually use in college. However, it has been a tough journey finding great testimonials about which netbook might be the best. Any ideas?

Thank you all in advance,

Hippo

Price point is probably 300-500 dollar range

I would go with an Asus Eee PC

Newegg.com - ASUS Eee PC 1215N-PU17-BK Black Intel Atom D525(1.80GHz) Dual Core 12.1" WXGA 2GB Memory 250GB HDD NetBook

or look through these
Newegg.com - PCs & Laptops,Netbooks,ASUS

Thanks jdeb I am really liking that netbook you posted.

To glc, sorry if this is an extremely noob question, but what is an x2 on an Asus? When I looked it up it seemed to either give me graphics cards or laptops. Is there a special netbook that has an x2-something on it?

Thank you all for the input and any more will be very appreciated!

I pretty much agree, I have read and heard pretty decent things about the Eee pc and many more good things about Asus.

The ASUS Eee 1215N is as good as they get!

The ASUS Eee 1215N was just introduced in the last few months, but it is one of the first 'netbooks' to feature an Intel Atom Dual-Core processor. It has a 12.1" display with full 1366x768 resolution (vs. smaller 10.1 displays with 1024x600 on most netbooks) along with NVIDIA ION 2 graphics.

LAPTOP Magazine gave it their Editor's Choice award- LINK

ASUS invented the netbook category with their 7" Eee PC in 2007 and they've been leading the pack every since...they build great laptops, too!
