Does anyone have experience with these?

ecoATM | How It Works

They sound interesting for those who want ease and convenience over selling the items themselves.

WOW.. What will they think up next

I watched the short video and the first thing that came to my mind-> Make sure you don't have any emails or contact info or anything important that you don't want the machine to STEAL off of it...

Guess you'd have to see just how many pennies per dollar the "machine" thinks the device is worth.

I saw the video too and thought it was cool. I too wondered how much it would offer. I have never seen a machine, was just told about it on Facebook and thought it was a cool thing.

Wow....just when I was starting to get used to disposing of mercury, lead, cadmium etc into the landfill.

Now if we could only find a way to pay people for all their electronic waste so it does not end up in landfills.

I agree, David. I have things that I would rather dispose of in that way (whether money was received or not). I am not a big recycler by any means, but I hate waste. I think it is a win wine if someone else can get use out of something and things get kept out of landfills that fill up so quickly.

Oops "win wine" wasn't intentional or a Freudian slip.

The damage is not so much the filling up of landfills with e-waste. The damage is the leeching of toxic metals and other elements into the ground water.

Yeah, that is worse on the things that are electronics, but even keeping non-electronic things that can be used by someone else is a good goal.
