Asus Eee Pad?
Hi all. I dont post much here.
Is anyone familiar with the 16gb model? Seems like a decent model for the price. But its very hard to locate. Fortunately for me, I was able to order one from Amazon. For the $399 price. Direct from them. Its just not Available now. At least Amazon wont charge until they ship. And they are giving me 2 day shipping for Free. I was also considerring an Acer Iconia A500. Which doesnt have all the features of the Asus. I am partial to Acer from past experience. The only place I found it is BB. And I dont like dealing with them. Bums signed me up for 2 AOL accounts. And I didnt know it until the Discover bill came. Thanks in advance. |

Asus is better than Acer. You already made your purchase. Honour your word and enjoy your new tablet.

Thanks. I know Asus makes good products. And its still on BO.
I have never used anything with Android OS. Have played with a Ipad 1. Didnt like it too much. Partly because I am not to familair with Apple OS. The E-Readers wont do as much. Figured I give this a try. |

Update: Still on B/O. No new info on when to expect it.
Question here. Will I be able to install automotive shop manuals? The ones I have run on Windows. The GM manual runs on a VM. Used up about 11Gb of HDD. Belive it or not, I get it to run on my Acer Netbook. The 12" with the AMD 1.7 Cpu. And 4gb Ram. Model 721-3574. Thanks |

You will have to check your manual's documentation to see if their app runs on Android.

I thought AOL was free now. Exactly how did this happen?

That happened a few years ago. 2005 or 2006. AOL had All my personal info. Name, Address, Phone number. And my Discover card number.

The EEE Pad arrived on Thursday. Havent opened the box. Guess I am having a hard time justifing it. You see back on April 12 2011 I lost 1/2 of my Net Income. Almost $1k. NJ Unemployment only gives me about $20 week on a Partial Claim. I have been doing side Auto Mech work for people from time to time. To help make up the difference. Dont have that amount of side work. I may just Return to Amazon while I have Time.

Only you can decide whether to keep or return but IMO, a tablet is pretty much a luxury or toy so, if money is tight, I wouldn't try to justify it. It's not like it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, it or something similar will be available when money isn't so tight.

Resell it or return it. I think it'd be best to return it, unless you can make an extra buck on it.

I decided to try the Eee Pad. Its not bad. Did the 3.1 Update. Installed a couple of Apps. Transfered a couple of MP3s. Then some glitch showed up. It prompted me to Force Close the music player.
I may end up keeping this unit. |
