overheating laptop how do i cool it?
Hello everyone,
My Laptop Toshiba Satellite L300d-243 Is overheating even with a plugged in 3 fan cooling pad/stand Tried those you-tube video tutorials for cooling but only give me short term results, need a more long term solution to cool it down Does any one have any ideas on how to cool it properly with a long lasting solution?

Have you cleaned the dust out of it and checked the fan for proper operation?

Yes i did check keeps sending out hot air from the duct on the side, pulls cool air from the underside duct and keyboard keys get hot after one hour.
The fan works at a constants speed slow steady does not speed up to compensate for the heat build up and there is no B.I.O.S. utilities to control the fan or monitor temps. Last edited by Ind-PC_student; 08-15-2011 at 12:19 PM. Reason: complete the message |

Check for a bios update. There may be one that addresses this issue. The fan should speed up as the temperature goes up. Either that or the temperature sensor(s) may have gone bad.

Unexpected solution was found
hello everyone just to update on the laptop's heating condition. i went into the amazon.co.uk market place and bought my self a replacement 9 cell battery to extend my battery working time up to 3 hours. From the previous factory assembled 6 cell, in that battery there is a design feature in this battery that works the same way as a desktop keyboard tab and it clears some space around the laptop fan on the underside so no more heating problems so far. thanks to everyone for your quick replies. |
