Update
I found that the xmbc app started to freeze up on my Nexus. I now am using an app called speaker boost and using mx player to play video. Both of these apps are free and seem to be working.

Another update. The Nexus 7 camera has a native resolution of 640x480. There is a mod (that works) to unlock it and make it HD 720P capable. Here is a link to the video explaining how the mod is done. MAKE NEXUS 7 CAMERA 720p HD (ROOT) - YouTube
