I'm contrary enough to "see" this but there's the practical obstacle : Are they too late?
If Windows and Blackberry are "'tardy to the party" what chance do these guys have coming out in October?

From the perspective of someone who knows nothing about Linux, I see no problem as long as you don't have to learn Linux to use the phone. There also needs to be a bunch of apps that work...like what Apple already has. Price is not the only thing that is important. If it is cheap yet the apps are not there and many of the apps are garbage or don't work then a freeware OS does you no good. Which kind of comes back to Linux's Achilles heel....most people do not work for free. Most want or need a financial return for their time and effort. People need food and a roof over their head and Linux being freeware, will never provide them the money for these needs.
