ipod touch

hello
I have an ipod touch that was synced to another computer, that computer has failed and I can no longer use. I am now attempting to sync to a brand new computer that uses windows 8 .iTunes sees the device ,but when I go transfer the library , it goes in to this continuous loop of authorizing this computer , I put my apple id in and it says you have 4 more computers including this one , and then goes back to authorize button.to add to the confusion it auto fills my old email address, so im wondering if its a setting in my ipod with confusion over an old apple id?

I you do it out of iTunes you the the option to wipe it or just do the update leaving everything intact. I've done it, however, mine is the Nano so I don't know your model but I'd assume it would be pretty much the same.

well I have figured out some of it, it kept auto filling our old email; so I tried logging in with the old account , I guessed the old password and then logged into the old account on our ipod.it transferred all the songs from the older account, all the songs are on the same ipod but 2 accounts have been used to download music .Hopefully that makes sense very confusing...
