rebooting
evening: i had to use the CD emergency recovery disk. i choose to reload saving the files, not reformat. all goes well and i end up with an working 98 system........so it seems. when i tried to reboot it only came back with a black picture, with this on it;
0 0 1 1039 5513 ide controller 14 0 1 2 1039 7001 serial bus controller 3 0 11 0 1282 9102 network controller 11 0 15 0 13f6 0111 multimedia device 10 0 15 1 13f6 0211 simple comm. controller12 1 0 0 1039 6306 display controller na acpi controller 9 initialize pci audio v1.8 device number (hex)=0f vender id=13f6 device id=0111 pci config base io (hex)=e400 pci irq (hex)=0a set sb port to i/o=220=a dma=1 just what the above is trying to tell me i don't know. i can reboot and go to safemode, however, i can not check the drivers while in safemode. this is a powerspec.pc sold by micro electronics. i have also looked in the bios and every thing seems to be loading....nothing said .....failed sorry this is so long, i really do not know all that much and just wanted to give as much infor as i could........ thanks for any help. richard tazpaige@hotmail.com |

It's telling you what each device is using for resources, and that it can't initialize your video (probably no free IRQ's) and it can't find the sound card.
Boot to safe mode, remove all com ports, your video display adapter(s), and your sound card. Restart, go into BIOS setup, disable com 2, set "PnP OS Installed" to NO, set "Reset configuration data" to YES. Restart, reinstall. |
