One should at least return the envelope, otherwise the money they spent on postage may not be used.
One time, I stuffed the envelope with other junk mail that exceeded one ounce. This time I gave a return address. The "junk mailer" resent the junkmail with another empty envelope thinking I accidently sent the previous one. I again stuffed the empty envelope with junkmail with a return address and so far..no more junk mail from this company.
I wish I knew if the postage was commited when they bought it or if it`s tallied when used...any ideas?

Iv`e had it up to (gesturing) here with credit card offers and the like stuffing my mailbox to new capacities.
Here is my thoughts on a form of revenge.
In that mail that comes with "return envelope" that is stamped, do the following:
1. Slip that empty return envelope in the mailbox and make them spend 10 cents or more.
2. Include a reply as to WHY you did not accept the offer.
3. Enclose "other" junkmail within the return envelope (my personal fav).
(I get rid of more junkmail this way)

4. Get ticked off and just throw it out. (bad idea...return an empty envelope)

That is indeed the No 1 answer.

When I get a computer that calls me with a recording I just set the phone down until I need to use it again - off the hook leaving the line open for hours sometimes. The call stays open and it really screws them up. I used to hate those calls - but now....I laugh at how much money they are losing. Bet they learn to remove me from the random dialer.

I always send the return prepaid envelope some times empty and other times I have more fun. Once I taped the envelope to a shoebox that I had weighted to about 1 pound, carefull not to include anything with my name, address or their bar codes. The envelope had there address on both send to and return to...
So I am sure they got billed for my trash that I sent them. I am talking about using kitchen trash, that I supect would have began to stink by the time they got it.

Just stuff all of the cra* that came in the original envelope back into the return envelope and send it off. Just make sure to write "VOID" on the application so they don't turn it around on you.

I have found that for cold calls on the phone, the best response is to just tell them that you work for the competition (i.e. when Sprint calls, I work for AT&T). Works everytime for me.

Or here's a thing. Make a tape recording of you saying things like "Yup, sounds good. Could I hear the offer again?" or " Say that again." or "Yeah, yeah, I'm here. Just tell me that offer again." Set the recorder with the tape next to the phone. When a tellamarketer calls, set the mouthpiece on the recorder, hit play and walk away. Let them spend 50 cents a minute long distance while you drink some nice chilled lemonade on the pool-side deck.

Funny thing you can do is start talking to them, then in the middle of one of you questions hang up. They will call back...repeat process. the most I have had them call back was 5 times....I have slowed down the calls...I am sure it messes them up some.....

Talking

My personal favorite was when someone called trying to sell magazine subscriptions. I told them I'd make a deal with them...if I purchased a magazine subscription, they would have to purchase 50 boxes of girl scout cookies from my niece. Needless to say, they hung up rather quickly!!

I really love it when they try to pronounce my last name. "Is Joseph .......A...U...M...A...N... there?" Well, let me take a guess to see if this could be a good old friend or someone I never met. Hmmmm... (Just in case your wondering how to pronouce it, say it like Awe-Men, or like amen, or sometimes like Awe-man.{One of the old german names})

Just tearing up the junk-mail and sending it via the reurn envelope has been my favorite.
Iv`e been doing this for years and it seems to work reasonably well. Now, i`m eager to get junk-mail as it reduces my "curb sevice" proportionate to the size of the envelope.
Often, I`ll send competitors junk-mail to the other competitor and ask for more "info".
I wish I could see the faces on those that open them. Still, they re-send the offer and I again resend "other" data...a visious cycle...but fun as hell!

I have noticed that I get credit card apps at the same time...they come 2 at a time...
SO I just stuffed them with the junk from the other offer. I am returning the junk to the opposite company...that is now my current policy....I am mailing 2 of them tomorrow...If they didn't want it returned they wouldn't mail it to me...
