Will C++ still be a good language for games in the future?
I want to start programming games. I already program, but I want to use and expand my knowledge by programming games. I already know Java, but I don't know if it is a good language for games because of its restrictions, so I want to learn C++. I was just wondering, though, if I should learn C++ or if its too late and there is a more powerful programming language coming in the near future. Would learning C++ be a good investment of my time?

I think that C++ would be a good language to learn - with Java as its succesor, though, games would probably be better oriented in Java. However, I think that C++ would be around for a good bit.
Hope that helps, kram

Almost every game out there is programmed in C/C++, if you want to learn game programming, C++ is the best choice.
