web page building

not too sure where i should be posting this.

I am a cctv and alarm engineer in the uk, and am considering going self employed, and i would love to design and build my own web site. Trouble is I dont know how!!!!!

I am quite technically minded so am willing to learn html. Can anybody recommend a few links maybe? Or any advice?

cheers

mike

First off, you WILL need to learn HTML. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. Here are one of the best places to learn.

Basics:

A little harder:
http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp

Or you could use a program that would do it for you - try Macromedia Dreamweaver if you're really into it, or MS Frontpage with the MS version of the web. HTML goodies makes some nice tutorials on HTML if you're interested in learning the innerworkins of webpage coding. I guess it really depends on how interested you are in really working with the webpage.

Do see the Stick Thread that ForceFlow posted...I have a few more notes in there you may want to look at.
