Question Whats your favorite web editor?

Whats everyones favorite web editor? I used a bit of dreamweaver but I didint like it, call me odd but I dont like the way it does everything for you. I found notetab lite that works very well, it has a TON of utilities like C to F, Km to Miles, etc and lots of time saving utilities for when you write the code. Other than that I also like arachnophilia but it doesnt have as many features.

I do a mix of handcoding, frontpage and dreamweaver. I've been trying to get away from frontpage and rely more on dreamweaver. It takes some time to learn how to use.

I've been using a mix of Frontpage 2003, Dreamweaver, and plain coding with a Program called Textpad but I think my favorite is still that guy by Macromedia - Dreamweaver. However, I want to comment on this. I've used three generations of Microsoft Frontpage - 2000, XP, and 2003 and I have to say I've been very impressed by the improvements made from XP to 2003. The FTP/server-local screen is way improved and the editing portion is starting to look increasingly like Dreamweaver. That is to say, they still do have the extra Microsoft waste coding...hence my general preference of Dreamweaver. I do, at most points when not starting from scratch, use Textpad often since it's simple and clean.

I don't like to use WYSIWYG programs like Frontpage, so I use jEdit, a great cross-platform program.

Been using Homesite for quite a few years. It is still good even though Macromedia is in the process of ruining it.

I like Dreamweaver hands down vs. Frontpage or Go Live, or anything else I've used for that matter.

I've been using Frontpage since it's inception, I've tried out almost all the others. But keep going back to Frontpage.

I create sites for other people and organizations, FP is the easiest to teach them. After a little training they're able to maintain their own sites.

For my own site, I dabbled with Macromedia Flash. It's 100% Flash, but this isn't the way to go for most web sites.

I have been using ASP .NET Webmatrix for quite a while now but I do everything freehand without editors. I don't know what the WYSIWYG editor is like but it has one. It has a few cool features (storing code snipits and comon elements and stuff) but it is just a raw editor and I love it.

The only thing is, I believe you need the .NET framework installed, which you can get from Microsoft Updates or right from the Webmatrix site.

You can give it a try if you like, it's a free download.
Don't worry, no junk installed with it or anything. Just Webmatrix.

I have used something called 1st page 2000 from http://www.evrsoft.com/ It is old and free but it is pretty easy to use and has a preview screen to see what changes you have made.
