executable jar file

i dl'ed and installed a bitrate calculator. the problem is that i can't seem to run it. it says that its an executable jar file, and when i open it, it tells me that a fatal exception has occured. Program will exit. how do i run the program?

Is it a Java program?

I suggest you try to install the latest JRE:

Open the page's code, you'll find something like:

<applet code="ClassName.class" 
      
archive="filename.jar"
      
width="200" height="200">
</
applet
Copy it over to a local webpage, and place the .jar file in the same directory.
