Drop List

I have been searching around with no luck. I want something like a drop down list with items in it. When the item is selected, I would like text to pop up. To use an example of what I want, say you have a list with QB, RB, & WR. When one of those options is picked, text will appear below the list on the webpage and say whose in what position for a specific team.

Html?

Are you trying to do this in an HTML drop down list? or something like flash? Also where would you like the text to pop up? in a seperate field or right on the object selected?

There are two very easy ways to do this - one through DHTML/JavaScript, or one through a program called Macromedia Fireworks - the latter I suggest. I used Fireworks and it's an awesome piece of software - has a whole place just for drop down menus. As it is a Macromedia software, it is expensive - somewhere around 300 USD, so give the eval a shot. Otherwise, I'll try to find a DHTML/JavaScript solution.

Personally I hate proprietary programs that create menus and mouseover effects, when there are usually cleaner ways of doing it. But more than that, I hate the cost of such software

Take a look at this: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...bodescribe.htm it should be what you need.
