Num Users of Personal Hosted WS

Had a 50/50 chance of posting in the right section.

Maybe in the future, I was thinking of hosting my own site.

What is the max number of visitors that I can expect, before the connection dies with ADSL? Would behind a router work? Hub? Like are we talking 5 or 25?

Hey,

This question varies greatly, depending on your max bandwidth and the sizes of files being transfered. That is for your number of visitors at the same time. For visitors over a week, a month, or a year depends on how much transfer your ISP allows per month. This varies from one ISP to the next.

For future reference, if you are interested in setting up your own site, my article on setting up a home server should be of great help to you: http://www.pcmech.com/show/network/690

Good Luck!
