100% cpu usage while runnig borland c

i use borland c++ 3.1 on win xp. cpu utilisation goes to 100%
anyone know why this happens and how to fix this?

Hi abs, and welcome to PC Mech

Haven't tried that compiler, but I think it's pretty old, this could be the reason, why not try a newer version:

Or even better, check out DevC++, which has a more standards-friendly compiler (gcc), and an IDE with code highlighting and completion:
