Using Qstat to display game server stats in .ASP page - help required

Hi Guys

Myself and a friend are working on a gaming site and are looking at using Qstat to display game statistics (i.e. current map, no of players etc.) in the homepage for our site which will be in .asp and the game we are looking at getting stats for is Call Of Duty which works ok in qstat when set to quakeIII engine.

Qstat can be downloaded from www.qstat.org

I've repeatedly googled this and found a few PHP scripts to do it but nothing is ASP.

Does anyone know how to accomplish this, at present we are just testing pages on my local machine before commiting to getting webspace etc.

Thanks for any help you can give

D

change of plan I can make qstat report into a .txt fie like the one i've attached (just used another server for an example)

Is it possible to display that content in a frame in HTML but have that frame reload the content from that file and also trim the file so that it just displays things like player info and frags in separate columns without the server info and IP address at the top?
Attached Files
File Type: txt COD.txt (1,021 Bytes, 106 views)

All I could find is this: http://www.eksperten.dk/spm/374710 but you will need to edit and change the code quite considerably to get what you want.

I think that if you want to use ASP you will have to write it yourself, unless anyone else knows of anything.

Edit: Didn't see that last post, if you are willing to experiment you might be able to write an ASP page to trim the top of the file off and then write it to the page.

Reading the documentation it appears you can get a xml output (using the -xml flag). An ASP page should be able to read this file, and then output it in a way you can see (tables, formatting etc).

I found this article on XML/ASP which might help: http://www.15seconds.com/issue/990527.htm
If you post an XML file that QStat produces I might look at it and see what I can come up with a bit of time.
