When you attempted to run it, what did other windows or programs do, did the computer freeze? Did you exit java via ctrl alt del?
when i did manage to get it to work with limewire the rest of the windows would dissapear and the come back as i hovered over them. If they disappeared, can I ask how you were able to hover over them? In the taskbar? Once you hovered over them and got to appear, were they fully functioning, minimize, maximize, etc.? Did they stay in the background or did they disappear again after you clicked off of them (lost focus in VB terms)? I think it has to be something deeper. Did you download the file again? Also, are we talking the JRE or the JDK? ^fo |

You must be trying to develop in with Java?
If not use a slightley older version of the end user program 1.4.2 is very stable.

yes the latest JRE with 5.0 update, limewire support are saying use the latest java as the old has probs,
when i say hover, i mean the screen goes black and only limewire can be seen(but not completely), then as i move the pointer around icons and graphics start to reappear and if i close lime wire then the screen refreshes and everythings back. also i have noticed that when i java app is running in grey sometimes when i open IE it appears normal for a spilt second then after refocus on the java app and its greyed out again. also sometimes i can actually click buttons within the java app window altho i cant see them. ??? probly gonna do a fresh install of windows when i upgrade my mobo adn set up a raid with another HDD so.... still would like to know why this is happenin tho.. i have tried DL reinstalling removing temp folders and program folders etc about 10 times and nothing so far has made a difference they did say on suns site to remove MSJVM from the registry with a tool but this is BS because it works fine on my other system which has exactly the same stuff as this one.
