Question Any Advice on re-starting programming?

I took 2 years of programming at a university (University of Northern Iowa) and had to quit from family issues. It has been 3 years and wanted to know if anyone knows a good website or sites that i can kinda refresh my memory on. I have used Java, Ada, a tiny bit of C, and a lower lvl language i dont remember the name of(nor care to *shudder*). I will prolly want to start with Java using a program called JGrasp(the only one i have ever used). Maybe something that has some easy program ideas or something like that. Was gonna use my old professers websites, but he changed them and cant find them anymore. I have a C++ programming book but it is set up to use Visual c++ and it wont seem to work on another compiler....

any tips or suggestions?

thanks,
