I have installed fedora core os and my question is under the development packages which one to use as a newbie?
which one do you think would be a good starting point.

Tutorials for what? You need to let me know what it is you're looking for.
Programming, as in what? Application development, web development, shell scripting, or something else? |

I am trying to learn to develop software and firmware starting on the easiest and working upwards.

Alright, assuming you have no programming background, your best bet would be to start learning C. Not C++, but C.
That is the basic starting point for most application developers. As for development tools for linux distros, your best bet would be to try posting in the alternate O/S forum. |

Found the right application is called eclipse and has many tutorials and examples and has those languages C/C++
and it has some exercises aimed at beginers such as myself thank you all for your help |

I thought that eclipse was geared toward java. Although it probably does double as a C/C++ IDE, and I just didnt know
